My name is Anna Chitwood and I will be your child's teacher for the 2015-2016 academic year. I am looking forward to spending time getting to know you and your child and helping your child reach his or her fullest potential.
This will be my 25th year of teaching. The last 17 years have been here at Lietz teaching kindergarten, first, and second grade. I could not be more excited to continue working with all members of the Lietz community. I truly believe that we are like a family and look out for one another.
I am originally from Montreal, Canada. I came to California as an exchange student and attended Cal Poly University. During my year as an exchange student, I fell in love with California and chose to return upon graduating from Bishop University with a BA in Psychology. I then attended California State Fullerton, where I earned my teaching credential. I just recently earned my Masters in Education and Leadership through Santa Clara University and look forward to going into administration in the near future.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my children. They are young adults and I gain lots of joy watching them pave their paths as they aspire to be contributing adults in our society. My daughter loves theatre and hopes to bring her passion for the arts into the classroom in the near future. My son is an apprentice training to be a welder. His passion lies in history and loves participating in civil war reenactments. I spend a lot of time reading for both pleasure and learning, as well as just hanging out with my two little dogs.
